The Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1 was recently leaked online, complete with its full roster of playable fighters and Kameo assist characters. NetherRealm’s next high-octane fighting game is set to launch soon, and most of Mortal Kombat 1’s line-up of revamped warriors has already been revealed. What makes the latest Mortal Kombat game so exciting for many fans is the fact that it takes place in a rebooted timeline where classic character dynamics have been altered in drastic ways.

Please note this article may have some SPOILERS for Mortal Kombat 1

Many players have already gotten the chance to sample Mortal Kombat 1 thanks to a series of tests and hands-on demos NetherRealm hosted over the summer. These let players try Mortal Kombat 1’s new Kameo mechanic, which adds a supporting fighter who can unleash devastating combo moves with the press of a button. Several of Mortal Kombat 1’s trademark fatalities were also shown off, with characters like Johnny Cage dispatching their foes in ultra-violent ways. There are still a couple of weeks to go before players can experience Mortal Kombat 1 in its entirety, but some have spotted the highly-anticipated sequel in stores ahead of time.

Reddit user rearisen claims to have found a physical copy of Mortal Kombat 1 for the Nintendo Switch and shared a series of images that have since been removed from r/MortalKombat. These captured screenshots feature the full base roster for Mortal Kombat 1, excluding any upcoming DLC fighters like Homelander or Peacemaker. Mortal Kombat 1’s secondary Kameo roster was also shown in full, consisting of classic versions of the Mortal Kombat universe’s most famous warriors from before Liu Kang’s reset of the timeline at the end of Mortal Kombat 11’s Aftermath DLC campaign.

Rearisen also shared some of their thoughts on how Mortal Kombat 1 runs on the Nintendo Switch. According to them, this version of the game suffers from screen tearing and framerate lag, with rearisen stating that they haven’t gotten a chance to begin playing MK 1’s story campaign proper yet and deeming the Switch port’s performance as “not up to par” with a typical $70 video game release. Other users do point out that NetherRealm could correct these issues in a day-one update patch, as many triple-A releases have done in the past.

Aside from Mortal Kombat 1’s alleged technical issues on the Nintendo Switch, there is also the issue of the game’s roster and story being leaked online ahead of its official release on September 19. Spoilers for upcoming blockbuster games are sadly nothing new at this point, so fans hoping to be surprised may wish to steer clear of online forums until they get to play through Mortal Kombat 1 for themselves later this month.
