Highlights

  • Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 introduces a heist theme, adding excitement and intrigue to the game’s storyline and gameplay.
  • The Battle Pass skins are all heist-themed, with players unlocking more characters as they progress, culminating in the villain Kado Thorne.
  • New weapons and modifications enhance the heist experience, including a metal briefcase that transforms into a turret gun and a rocket-fueled battering ram.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 just launched with a new theme, and a lot of new features worth talking about. It wouldn’t be Fortnite if the island didn’t evolve in some way between seasons, and the latest version does not disappoint. It feels like most of the strengths of the previous season were carried over, and are only assisted by the new additions. While the season’s still in its opening stages, it looks like players can look forward to an exciting season.

Even though the lackluster mission change from Fortnite‘s previous season is still in place, most of the game seems to have either experienced an upgrade or remained the same. Augments are still in place to make matches more interesting, and longtime elements like NPCs and vendors are still as reliable as ever. But of course, the real test of a season is how good its new features are, and Chapter 4 Season 4 provides a lot of new things worth talking about.

Fortnite’s Chapter 4 Season 4 Theme is Full of Intrigue

After last season’s focus on exploration, Fortnite‘s new season theme is all about heists. A new character, Nolan Chance, is leading a crew that makes up most of the Battle Pass skins in order to pull off a major heist. The target, Kado Thorne, is a mysterious vampire with the ability to transform into a terrifying beast-like creature. The heisting aspect adds a lot of excitement lore-wise as well as in-game, and it’s shown off in the adjustments made to the island.

The skins available in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4’s Battle Pass all pertain to the heist storyline. Players start with leader Nolan Chance, and unlock more members as they earn more levels and stars. In order, they will unlock getaway driver Piper Pace, team muscle Fish Thicc, excitable hacker Mae, fashionably dangerous Antonia, and TikTok star Khaby Lame. Fittingly, the final skin in the pass is the target of the heist himself, the villainous Kado Thorne, complete with his monstrous alternate form.

Another tweak has been made in regard to Fortnite‘s Nolan Chance Snapshot Quests. While last season also had Snapshot Quests, this time around they increase the player’s Rep with a character, gauging how much they respect them. By completing enough quests, players can unlock more services from the character in question upon meeting them in-game. In addition to adding an incentive for players to focus on Snapshot quests, having the players prove themselves to the crew is a fun implementation of the season’s theme.

Fortnite Just Added Several New Heist-Themed Weapons

Among the collection of new weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 comes a selection of new tools that seem custom-made for a heist. The Business Turret is a metal briefcase that turns into a turret gun upon deployment, offering the player extra covering fire. Even more exciting is the Rocket Ram, a rocket-fueled battering ram that can not only deal damage, it can also help the user cross long distances easily. The return of remote explosives is also a perfect move for the heist theme.

In addition to the new weapons, Fortnite brought back several mythic weapons from seasons past, letting players wield them once more. Classics like TNTina’s Ka-Boom Bow, Kit’s Shockwave Launcher, and Midas’ Drum Gun are back for players who are lucky enough to find them. However, players will need to brave the most dangerous parts of the island to get their hands on them. However, the rewards make the heist well worth the risk.

In addition to the new weapons, several new reality arguments in Fortnite await players on the island. First Shotgun and Pistol Salvo add more damage to their respective weapons, while Sniper Striker gives sniper rifles a leech effect. Fast Fisher and Ammo Drop are excellent for players who want to collect fish and ammo more quickly, while On The Go Bag lets players acquire mobility items more easily. While none of the effects are game-breaking, each of them can provide a well-needed boost.

Fortnite’s New Island is a Perfect Setting For a Heist or a Fight

Eclipsed Estate from Fortnite

As with every new season, Fortnite‘s iconic island has changed once again, this time for the sake of Nolan’s scheme. There are three new POIs, Eclipsed Estate, Relentless Retreat, and Sanguine Suites that are owned by Kado Thorne and contain his riches. Each of these locations is heavily guarded with both guards and security cameras. However, players who break into their vaults can snag some of the unvaulted mythic weapons, at least as long as they can escape with the loot.

A few notable landmarks on the island are Fortnite‘s new Forecast Towers. Each tower has guards nearby that hold a keycard, similar to vaults from past seasons. If the player uses a keycard at a tower, they will be able to see upcoming storm circles, giving them a tactical advantage. While not as impactful as looting a powerful weapon from a vault, information is always useful in-game. At the very least, players can make sure that they stay clear of the storm.

The last big change worth noting is Fortnite‘s loot-filled heist bags. Heist bags largely function like chests but with a few key differences. First, they only appear at Thorne’s properties, or at Nolan and Antonia’s hideout in Frenzy Farm. Second, they frequently carry Business Turrets and Rocket Rams, making them a good source for the game’s newest weapons. Even when they don’t, they’ll still help the player get equipped with ammo and items. Since many often spawn in one area, players can get fully prepped quickly.

Chapter 4 Season 4’s perks aren’t over yet, with Ahsoka Tano set to join Fortnite later in the season as well, adding another high-profile skin to the game. The latest season is making good use of its theme, and the new items and mechanics introduced add a lot to the game. In fact, several could easily come back for later seasons as well. There’s a lot to experience in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4, and players should make the most out of it.

Fortnite is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
