Glitched Destiny 2 Exotic Is an Efficient Boss Killer | Games Rants

Highlights

  • Tessellation Exotic Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2 is glitched, dealing excessive damage through an easily replicable glitch, similar to previous Exotic weapons.
  • Fusion Rifles, including Exotic ones like Jotunn and Telesto, have become popular in Destiny 2 due to their high damage output and versatility.
  • Cheese Forever, a Destiny 2 YouTuber, showcases a glitch with Tessellation where players can generate supercharged shots by swapping grenades, resulting in higher DPS than other powerful Exotics.

Another Destiny 2 Exotic weapon is acting out of place, with the Tessellation Fusion Rifle dealing excessive damage thanks to an easily replicable glitch. Veterans will remember Exotic weapons glitching out and dealing absurd amounts of damage or instantly generating a complete bar of super energy. These glitches, in most cases, required players to jump through various hoops to activate the game-breaking effects. The developers at Bungie, however, have always delivered substantial fixes to stop the issues before any severe damage to Destiny 2‘s balancing.

Among the plethora of weapon choices and sub-categories in Destiny 2, Fusion Rifles occupy a special section in the current meta. These weapons utilize Special ammo and deal moderate to high damage in close to medium ranges, often comparable to shotguns in combat. Thanks to multiple balance patches in recent years, Fusion Rifles have become very popular in every game mode, with Exotics such as Jotunn becoming a staple in PvP and One Thousand Voices and Vex Mythoclast dominating the PvE meta for quite some time. Speaking of bugs involving Exotic Fusion Rifles, one would be remiss without talking about Telesto, a Destiny 2 weapon made infamous due to the sheer volume of glitches it produced.

Bungie announced that players pre-ordering The Final Shape will receive the Tessellation Exotic Fusion Rifle as a bonus. Shortly after arriving, the weapon caused a stir in the Destiny 2 community, as canceled pre-orders didn’t remove it from a player’s inventory. However, a new glitch demonstrated by Cheese Forever, a prolific Destiny 2 YouTuber, showcases the weapon dealing more damage than some god-rolled heavy weapons. The player shows how an Arc Warlock using Stormtrance can swap the equipped grenade to generate supercharged shots until the ammo runs out.

Tessellation’s unique feature is consuming a charged grenade’s energy to activate its Exotic perk and deal heavy damage, with each kill reimbursing a percentage of grenade energy. Cheese Forever showcases the glitch enabling players to dish out consistent high-damage shots, exceeding the DPS output of other damage-oriented Exotics like Izanagi’s Burden and the community-favorite Hothead Rocket Launcher. Tessellation is not the first pre-order Exotic to glitch out, as Quicksilver Storm has put Destiny 2’s developers through the paces before.

It is unclear when a concrete fix will arrive to remedy the issues plaguing Tessellation. However, players can likely expect the weapon to be disabled before the World’s First race for the returning Crota’s End Raid in Destiny 2. The upcoming raid will go live on August 1 with refreshed rewards and the return of the popular Exotic Auto Rifle Necrochasm.

Destiny 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
